Essential oils are most than just popular- they’re helpful. They’ve helped me deal with stress and also helped me in the kitchen when I needed an easy substitution for herbs or lemon juice. There are so many creative ways to use them in cooking and around your home- in fact, here’s TWENTY ways- download this free graphic here
Joining Young Living is one of the best “self-care” decisions I’ve made. If you’re considering experimenting in the world of essential oils, I’d love to answer any questions you may have! It may not be for everyone, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with all the benefits EOs have to offer!
Some of my favorites are below and if you’re just getting into EOs, these are a great place to start!

*Note- I am using Young Living Vitality oils- safe and intended for ingestion. I can not speak to the safety or efficacy of other oils/brands on the market*

Add one drop of YL Vitality Peppermint EO to a bottle of water before heading out for the day or hitting the gym! Peppermint may be beneficial for the digestive system and it has a fresh minty taste!

  1. Hi Shannon. I’m a fan of essential oils for a variety of therapeutic uses but I’m curious about ingesting them. How do you know which EOs are food grade and safe to consume?

    1. Hi Marisa. Such a great question and it’s definitely tricky. Young Living has many resources and videos on their website about using their Vitality oils- their line that meets FDA requirement for ingestion, labeling, etc. I only feel comfortable using these oils because that’s their designation and the company has an incredibly pure product- they even offer their members tours of their farms. It’s a very transparent company. I definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable ingesting just any brand of essential oil. Second, there’s a resource I use from Life Science called the Essential Oils pocket reference. Its research based (the desk edition has citations from all the research so you can find the specific article) and this helps explain what oils can be ingested, why, etc. Hope that’s helpful! If you have any more questions, please let me know. Anyone that signs up with me, I give them the pocket reference as a gift :).
